WHAT TO EXPECT?

September to Mid November;

During the post-monsoon months, you can expect cool, pleasant days - most often sunny with a breeze. As the monsoon retreats the forest transforms, orchids appear.

November to February:

Best time to visit. During the winter months, you can expect cool, pleasant days - most often sunny with a breeze. Many flowers come into bloom during the winter, including orchids. Cool days and blustery wind turns the hilltops brown, and the birds begin their breeding season.

Coffee harvest - By December, most of the coffee berries have turned red. They are sweet to the taste and ready for harvest. After they are picked and hulled, the fresh coffee beans are dried in the sun before going to the roaster.

March to May:

During the summer months, the temperatures begin begin to rise. Expect pleasant - and occasionally hot - weather, with passing "blossom" showers.In March, the passing blossom showers induce the coffee plants into blossom, and their sweet fragrance drifts across the plantation. Many species of fireflies emerge in April, lighting up the forest after sunset.

June to August:

Wet. Monsoon rains can be very heavy and prolonged - We receive  about 80 inches of rain annually, most of it during the monsoon season. The monsoon quickly transforms the rainforest. This season marks the breeding season for frogs; at night, the forests come alive with the songs of cicadas. In many ways, the true essence of the rainforest is best experienced during monsoon rains.
